Viton rubber extrusion has excellent resistance to acids, hot water and stream, chlorinated solvents, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, petroleum oils, fuels, ozone and weather, lubricants, and animal or vegetable oils. It has a service temperature range -10°F to 230°F.
Viton extrusion generally is used in Chemical Process plants, Power Utility Seals & Gaskets. They are also user in Oxygenated Automotive fuels. Concentrated aqueous inorganic acids, water and steam.
There are specialty versions of viton rubber available to provide improved low temperature flexibility. These are called LT types, for example, GLT, and GFLT, and these perform like the A, and F families, respectively; GLT & GFLT provide improved low temperature performance with a TR (10) of -40°F and brittleness to -76°F.
We have also developed combination of viton copolymer mixture with silicone, epdm which are economical and also substitute to high cost viton. Viton is not recommended for service in low molecular weight esters and ethers, ketones, certain amines, hot anhydrous hydrofluoric or chlorosulphonic acids and alkyl phosphate esters.
Viton extrusion are ideal for aircraft engines, furnaces ,autoclave and sterilizer, automotive fuel handling systems. viton(Fluorocarbon) is also good for high temperature / low compression set applications. Wide chemical exposure situations. Hard vacuum service.
